Research and Articles
Sometimes we come across a great article or research paper. Post a link here with a brief description.

Articles
  • This 2001 OCT article is a blast from the past from the John Snobelin/Mike Harris days. It's kind of a doom and gloom article. If you are new to combined grades, do NOT read this until after your first year is under your belt. We've come a long way since this.
  • Split Decisions: the 2001 ETFO position paper referenced in the above article. Again, this deals with old curriculum, but some of the themes remain poignant today.
  • Learning Together: Successful Teaching in Combined Grades. Curriculum insert from ETFO's Voice magazine, December, 2009. Completely different tone from the 2001 articles above.

Research
  • What Works? Research Into Practice. Combined Grades : Very nice research monograph by Diane Lataille-Démor from l'École des sciences de l’éducation of Université Laurentienne. It's theory, but it's nice theory.
  • . This is a list of books and articles put together by the amazing librarians at the TDSB's professional library in 2009. It contains many references to multi-age resources and articles. There are even a few that were written within the last few years. You might need an Ebsco or Proquest password to access some of the articles. See your board's professional library staff to get one.
